BASF Partners Institutes to Control Striga Weed in Africa

BASF says it has joined a group of international research organizations in a four-year partnership to develop a multi-technology strategy for controlling the invasive striga weed in Africa. Striga presents a serious threat to the economic and social viability of the Sub-Saharan Africa region, causing crop losses worth up to $1,2 billion/year in corn and cowpeas alone.
