BASF, Monsanto to Introduce Drought-Tolerant Corn Early in the Next Decade

BASF and Monsanto jointly have announced that they are “a major step closer” to introducing the world’s first drought-tolerant corn variety to the market. The development of the product has moved into the final phase of development and the companies say they anticipate product launch early in the next decade.   The companies plan to introduce the drought-tolerant corn initially in the U.S. Monsanto says already it has submitted an application for the product to the U.S. FDA for regulatory approval.
