Versalis and Genomatica launch biobased butadiene development and licensing joint venture

Versalis and Genomatica (San Diego) have signed a definitive joint venture agreement for the development, licensing, and production of biobased butadiene, the companies said today. Versalis and Genomatica signed the related memorandum of understanding last year. The companies will work together to develop a complete end-to-end process for the production of butadiene from nonfood biomass.
