Uruguay's ALUR inaugurates second biodiesel facility

Alcoholes del Uruguay (ALUR; Montevideo) inaugurated on 12 June its second biodiesel production facility, the company has announced. The plant, at Capurro, Uruguay, has annual capacity for 65 million liters of biodiesel. Glycerine will also be manufactured as a coproduct. Sunflower, canola, soy, animal tallow, and used cooking oil will be used as the raw materials for biodiesel production, the company says.
