U.S. DOE to Withdraw Fuel Cell R&D, Restart Funding for FutureGen Project

U.S. energy secretary Steven Chu has disclosed that the U.S. DOE plans to stop funding R&D on fuel cell vehicles. “We are moving away from funding vehicular hydrogen fuel cells to technologies with more immediate promise,” he says.
