POET-DSM commissions cellulosic ethanol plant

Project Liberty. POET-DSM Advanced Biofuels (Sioux Falls, SD), a joint venture between Royal DSM and POET, has opened Project Liberty, its world-scale cellulosic ethanol plant at Emmetsburg, IA. Project Liberty will process 770 tons of corn cobs, leaves, husk, and some stalk daily to produce 20 million gal/year of cellulosic ethanol, later ramping up to 25 million gal/year.
