Hydrogen Use to Cut EU Oil Demand

Use of hydrogen could reduce oil consumption in road transportation fuels by 40% in the European Union (EU) by 2050, says a recent report from a major EU research program. The EU could take a leading position in the worldwide market for hydrogen technologies, resulting in new economic opportunities and boosting competitiveness, says the report from the HyWays project, which is aimed at developing a roadmap for greater use of hydrogen.
