EnviroTech :: Alternative fuels DSM Launches Cellulosic Biofuel Project9:41 AM MDT | October 27, 2008 | Rebecca Coons DSM says it has launched a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for enzyme R&D that enables commercially viable production of biofuels from nonfood or feed-based feedstocks. The launch follows DOE’s announcement last February of a $33.8-million grant program, $7.4 million of which was given to a consortium led by DSM and including Abengoa Bioenergy New Technologies (Chesterfield, MO). The program requires a minimum 50% cost-share with industry partners, DOE says. Novozymes and Danisco’s Genencor were also among the grant...
