Canergy chooses Proesa process technology for California biofuels plant

Canergy, an advanced biofuels company based in Brawley, CA, says it has chosen Beta Renewables's Proesa process technology for an Imperial Valley, CA, cellulosic biofuels facility set to begin construction in first-quarter 2014. Financial terms have not been disclosed. The 25-million gal/year plant is expected to come online in 2016 using energy cane feedstock, bagasse, and residual cane straw.
