Dow Chemical’s move last week to lift pricing by a further 25% in July, in addition to the 20% hike it announced in May, underscores the urgent and critical situation faced by chemical makers as both energy and feedstock costs soar (p. 8). Dow’s first-half feedstock and energy costs are up more than 40% year-over-year.
