Economics :: Prices Ethylene Margins Swing from a Loss9:28 AM MST | January 14, 2008 | RC Spot ethylene pricing recovered somewhat last week, hitting a more healthy 55.5 cts/lb after trading in the range of 51 cts-52 cts/lb, market sources say. However, most trades done by CW presstime were only in the range of 54 cts-55 cts/lb. “Margins at this level are thin, but it is an improvement. To reach November-type margins, spot prices need to be around 57 cts/lb,” one producer says. December’s contract price rolled over at 61.5 cts/lb, a 48% increase year on year.
