Economics :: Prices Dow Raises Polycarbonate Prices9:01 AM MDT | April 24, 2009 Dow Chemical says it will increase the price of polycarbonate resin, polycarbonate compounds, and polycarbonate blends by 7 cts/lb in Latin America and North America, effective May 1 or as contracts allow. The price hike is due to rising raw material and energy costs, and eroding margins, Dow says. “Looking at the consistent price decline over the last six months in polycarbonate with benzene’s 60% run-up since January 2009 and propylene’s 35% increase year-to-date, it is important and necessary that we take pricing action to restore margins...
