The naphtha decline disappointed olefins producers who were hoping to rebuild battered margins, but they were appeased by a rise of €30/m.t. for spot ethylene and propylene, market watchers say. U.S. olefins also ticked up, as January propylene contracts rose 2cts/lb to settle at 20.5 cts/lb and 22 cts/lb for chemical grade and polymer grade, respectively.
