Polymer prices mixed

Polymer prices were generally lower over the first half of May, but results were widely scattered. May contracts in North America were down by 2 cts/lb for polypropylene (PP) as well as for general-purpose polystyrene (PS), and down 5 cts/lb for high-impact PS. May settlements were higher by 2 cts/lb for low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Export prices for LDPE, linear LDPE, high-density PE, and homopolymer PP were all lower $20-60/m.t. The bigger declines were reported for copolymer PP, and PS, down $170-220/m.t. In Europe the pattern was similar. May contracts...
