SPF 2010: A Good Show

9:07 AM MDT | October 27, 2010 | By PETER MAPLESTON

Live from Speciality Plastic Films 2010 This year’s SPF Speciality Plastic Films conference at the Hilton Dusseldorf went down well with all who attended. On Monday and Tuesday, around 120 delegates got to hear some of the very latest information on new materials and technologies, and also listened to the views of important film converters and brand owners. Premieres included Plexar tie-layer technology for high clarity multilayer barrier films from LyondellBasell, Enable metallocene-catalysed linear low polyethylenes from ExxonMobil, Borshape polyethylene terpolymers from Borealis, and flexStack blown film die technology from Brampton Engineering. As is always the case with Maack Business Services conferences, Q&A sessions were very lively, especially the final one, which involved Procter & Gamble and Unilever executives talking about their strategies for sustainability.
