PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC; Bangkok), Thailand’s largest and one of Asia’s leading petrochemical firms, has signed two agreements to carry out engineering studies to develop a propylene oxide (PO) joint venture project with Toyota Tsusho Corp. (TTC; Nagoya, Japan) and for a polyether polyols complex to be jointly developed with TTC and Sanyo Chemical Industries (SCI; Kyoto). The PO plant is expected to have the capacity to produce 200,000 m.t./year, and the polyether polyols plant would be designed for 130,000 m.t./year. The complex would be located on the Hemaraj Eastern industrial estate at Rayong, Thailand, and will require an investment of approximately $1 billion....
