H.I.G. Capital (Miami), a private equity firm, has announced that its portfolio company Valtris Specialty Chemicals (Independence, OH) has acquired Akcros Holdings, a company owned by private-equity investment group Grove Industries (Stratford-upon-Avon, UK). Valtris, carved out of Ferro in December 2014, manufactures specialty chemicals primarily used as additives to produce and process polymers, sealants, and chemical intermediates. Valtris operates seven manufacturing facilities, five of which are in the United States, one in Mexico, and one in the United Kingdom....
