During the week ended 14 February, chemical railcar traffic in North America increased both sequentially and year-over-year (YOY), boosted by strong gains in the United States, but results from Mexico remain weak.

During the week ended 7 February, chemical railcar traffic in North America declined from the previous week, but it increased year-over-year (YOY), with a particularly strong gain in Canada. For all of North America, chemical railcar traffic during the week totaled 43,880 carloads, a sequential decline of 1.6%, but an increase of 3.8% year-over-year (YOY), according to data released on 11 February by the American Association of Railroads (AAR).
