Five employees have been injured in an explosion this afternoon at Dow Chemical’s North Andover, MA, facility, one critically, according to local news reports. Dow’s Andover operation, which was acquired with Rohm & Haas in 2009, manufacturers metalorganic precursors used to make light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and other semiconductor devices. Dow also makes the materials at Cheonan, South Korea.
