Lion Copolymer (Geismar, LA) has agreed to buy Ashland's styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) elastomers business. The terms of the deal, which is expected to close by December 31, were not disclosed. Trinseo (Berwyn, PA),  formerly Styron, says it is reorganizing its business divisions into two groups and reassigning members of the executive team. A newly created performance materials division will include rubber, latex, and performance plastics consisting of the automotive and consumer essential markets businesses. A new basic plastics and feedstocks division will include styrenic polymers—polystyrene, ABS, SAN—polycarbonate, and styrene monomer.
