Kraton Performance Polymers says that a cluster of operational issues took a big bite out of second-quarter earnings. The company reports a net loss for the quarter of $5.6 million, swinging year-over-year (YOY) from a net profit of $11.1 million. Sales totaled $255.9 million, down 21% YOY from $323.8 million, mainly on lower prices, but also on reduced volume.
