OCI Partners (Nederland, TX) says that recent severe thunderstorms in the Gulf Coast area caused a power outage that disrupted methanol and ammonia production at the company's facility near Beaumont, TX, over the past several days. Koppers Holdings (Pittsburgh, PA) is exploring the consolidation of its North American tar distillation operations, including naphthalene and phthalic anhydride production, at Stickney, IL. The company says it will be applying for the necessary environmental permits, and a decision could be made within several months.
