Phillips 66 has brought online a new; 100,000-bbl/day natural gas liquids (NGLs) fractionator at its Sweeny Complex in Old Ocean, TX. Named Sweeny Fractionator One, the unit is supplying liquefied petroleum gases (LPGs) to local customers and the market hub at Mont Belvieu, TX, the company says. The unit will supply the international market once the 150,000-bbl/day Freeport LPG Export Terminal is completed in the second half of 2016.

Air Products says its hydrogen reactions lab in Allentown, PA, is operational and receiving material for laboratory trials. The lab, which features three continuous trickle-bed reactors capable of handling pressures of 2,000 lbs/sq inch, will allow customers to optimize hydrotreatment and hydrogenation reactions or switch from batch to continuous operation, the company says.
