Nova Chemicals has agreed to be the anchor shipper for Kinder Morgan Energy Partners’ Utica to Ontario Pipeline Access (Utopia) project, which will carry ethane and ethane-propane mixtures from the Utica shale basin to Nova’s Corunna, Ontario, facility. The pipeline, slated to begin operation in early 2018, will extend the range of shale-advantaged feedstocks available to Nova’s Corunna steam cracker, which has been receiving ethane from the Marcellus shale since early 2014....

Americas Styrenics (AmSty; The Woodlands, TX) will open a new styrene truck terminal at its Channahon, IL, facility, on 1 October. PTT Global Chemical (Bangkok) has partnered with Marubeni (Tokyo) to develop an ethane cracker and derivatives project in the Marcellus Shale region of the United States, says a local report. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, quoting unnamed sources, the partners are considering three locations: the Mon River Industrial Park at Allenport, PA; and a site each in West Virginia and Ohio....
