The Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (Safco), a manufacturing affiliate of the Sabic, has awarded a turnkey contract for the engineering design, supply and construction of a previously announced Safco 5 fertilizer plant to Saipem (Milan). The new plant will be one of the world’s largest urea production facilities with an investment cost of SR 2 billion. It will be designed to produce 1.1 million m.t./year of urea and is expected onstream in the third quarter of 2014....
