During the week ended 12 December, chemical railcar traffic in North America totaled 41,699 carloads, down 3.6% year-over-year (YOY) and 5.5% from the previous week, according to data released on 16 December by the Association of American Railroads (AAR). The United States chemical sector grew by 3.6% this year despite the strong US dollar and weakness in key export markets, says the American Chemistry Council (ACC), which today released its "Year-End 2015 Chemical Industry Situation and Outlook". The ACC expects growth to slow modestly in 2016, but forecasts average annual growth of over 4% through 2020, exceeding the estimated 2.6%. growth in GDP....
