Total US ethylene export volumes are expected to be greatly reduced for the second half of the 2016 because higher US prices have reduced arbitrage opportunities from the US Gulf Coast to Northeast Asia according to IHS Chemical. Trade data shows that over 100,000 metric tons of US ethylene was exported in the first half of the year, with close to half this volume moving to China and Taiwan.  While one large cargo also moved to China in July, August export volumes were the second lowest of the year so far, and only one cargo of approximately 5,000 metric tons left the United States in September....
